Chris is a multi-genre photographer and digital creator who focuses on still life, nature, and portraits. Born and raised in Southern California, he joined the U.S. Army in 2005 and has traveled all over the United States ever since. He posts educational videos to Free Will Photos on YouTube and provides small-group or individual lessons on photo editing and photographic concepts.

In 2012, Chris purchased his first digital camera to document his children's lives as they grew up, and he embarked on a lifelong project to create the most detailed illustrative story of his family for his girls to share with their future families. At the time, Lightroom was the popular software of choice, but he had no idea how to use it. After trial and error and many frustrating sessions with failed images, Chris finally learned the software and started getting the results he intended to get.

Shortly after learning the software, friends and family had questions about how to edit images and asked if he would consider creating a YouTube channel to help them learn. In the summer of 2019, Chris launched his channel on a mission to demystify photo editing software so photographers can get their creative vision out and into the world faster than he did.
